M-50 for sale
The M-50 is for sale on the internet, Craigs List, Auto Trader and Kjiji. Listed it late last night and the scammers are hard at work along with the folks with too much time on their hands.
I would hate to call some one an absolute idiot in case they are a real potential buyer "BUT" who in their right mind would buy a slightly used bike, in Canda, sight unseen and ship it to Malaysia. Heeellloooo, buy one closer to home knuckle head. Seems no one is near here so an "Agent" will pick up the bike. I said fine, have said agent show up with cash and we will complete the transaction. They do want to pay with PayPal but I would rather see cash instead of numbers in an account. Just an old guy being extra cautious in our modern financial world. This could be a new way to entertain myself when life gets boring. Maybe I'll list the Vstrom and see who I can reel in.  Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Have fun with the scammers and good luck with the sale.

Re: M-50 for sale
I have the same thing with selling a Honda PC800 on Craigsllst - all these responses from people out of the country who want to buy this as a surprise for their son and want to pay by paypal and have a mover come and pick it up after the payment is made. One guy even wants to give me $100 over my asking price. Either paypal never gets to collect the money or somehow they can get into your paypal account and rip you off from there. I tell them to send the paypal amount to the mover and have him bring over the cash when he picks up the bike and then they disappear from sight.

Re: M-50 for sale
It sounds like there is some sort of problem with Pay-Pal. Once the money shows in your account, it is in your account, right? Or am I missing something?

Smart scammers will always find a path to your money if you give them an opening. I really like cash in hand transactions.

Re: M-50 for sale
I'm with the Santander bank, & I like their system. They have my cell phone number, & every time I use my credit or debit cards over the internet, when I've entered the payment etc, it goes automatically to head office, who then send a 6 digit code (different every time) via sms to my phone (within seconds). I then have to enter the code onto the payment page, or the bank won't pay out. This way they'd have to steal my cell phone, along with my details, to use it.
