New rider from Portland or

Hi,
I just bought my first bike 2009 Suzuki GZ250. I have been riding it around town and it feels great.
I took it out on highway and it sustained 60mph with not much problems.

The original owners have replaced the stock muffler with a shorter but louder muffler. It sounds like lawnmower and I hate the sound of it.
Is there something anyone could suggest on getting the stock muffler? I looked around online they cost ~200 bucks to get one.

I guess this is a n00b question. Is it possible to just replace the muffler without getting the entire exhaust on this bike?

Its just my personal opinion but I HATED my stock muffler, it was so quiet that wildlife became an issue, I would literally have animals not hear me until I passed them. That included animals that were standing in the road.

Yeah, I understand the safety aspects of it. But the sound feels really off for this bike. Is there a middle of the road muffler that I can get that doesn't make the sound go like a lawnmower?

I have an aftermarket muffler on mine that gives it a slightly deeper sound which I enjoy and it is a little louder which helps keep the critters away from the road.

Also you can replace the muffler with our replacing the entire exhaust. Look for a slip on muffler. I had to cut off my old muffler and slide on a new one. It is a really easy beginner project for these bikes. You might also look into some of the post regarding carb jets as you may want to change yours after changing the muffler.
