New guy, with thanks already ...
Folks-
I just wanted to thank you for this forum. This evening I finally got around to working on my wife's 2001 Suzuki GZ-250, which has not run for about 4 months. This is her first bike and she's really taken to it. However, due to an illness she's just recovered from my priorities were elsewhere, until her health had improved. It has, so tonight was my first attempt to resurrect her bike. Thanks to the loyal forum people I was able to get it running tonight. The bike had not started for around 4 months.I replaced the battery that was flat and refused to take a charge. Then with some sound advice, that was intended for others, I was able to locate the 20 amp fuse in the starter relay system and replace it. Once that was accomplished a dose of starter fluid and she started right up. My wife is very happy and I'm even happier. It is all due to the kindness of strangers, to quote a famous line. So, my best regards to everyone who had issues with their GZ-250's starting and even better regards to those whose advice I relied on to finish the mission! You have my most sincere thanks, one and all! R.M. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome to the forum and I am glad that this site has given you good advice but also some happiness in your lives. It is a great site in that we are all able to share our love for cycle riding and, in this case, the GZ250. Ride safe and enjoy.

Another new guy with a relevant follow-up question!
How did you use the starter fluid in the bike? I see suggestions about how it can be used but I am at a loss as to where to spray it specifically. How did you use it exactly? (I have the exact same model, 2001 GZ250 Marauder)
