I am back!

Hi all, it has been about a year since my last post (I think). I just wanted to say that I have purchased a 2007 Shadow 750 to be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait! It is a little bigger than I wanted for my first bike, but I will spend a lot of time riding in parking lots and around the neighborhood before I hit the hiway. I don't even have a helmet or gloves yet, but the bike is going to sit until I get them.

I spent about a month in Lubbock, way back when.

I seem to recall a post from you about that. Putting up an antenna, right?

Re: I am back!

Welcome back. Nice to hear you got your bike. The Honda 750 V-twin line is a strong well designed bike that many riders adore. I am sure you will like it after you get some real saddle time and gain some skill and confidence. Can't remember off-hand but did you take a riding course ? Hoping you did. Post a pic or 5 when you have time.

Oh yeah, before I forget. MotorcycleGear.com in Texas has some great closeout prices on gear right now. Some really good prices on jackets and helmets. Excellant return policy too.

Re: I am back!

Congrats on the bike! I've wanted a Honda Shadow since I got my first bike, a CB 750.

Have you got pics of it to share?

I took the course in Sept 2010, where I rode the GZ250. As far as posting pics, I have never done it so I don't know how. But that will be something new for me to learn, so we will see. For gear, I will probably just go to the dealer so I can try it on first, then once I have an idea of size I can order online and save some money. I will certainly try some helmets for fit and to make sure it will work with my eyeglasses.

The best helmets for use with eyeglasses are the modular full face helmets. You lift the chin bar when putting it on which works well with glasses. If you're not planning on a full face helmet then there's no problem with glasses with the 3/4 and half helmets.

Re: I am back!

On second thought, I really need to buy at least SOME gear from the dealer; he treated me right. As far as eyeglasses are concerned, I want one of those that has the retractable inner 'sun' shield as well as the outer clear shield, that sun shield is what I am concerned about fitting over my glasses.

HJC has 3 or 4 models that might work. Check them out for a proper fit.
