USE THE DAMN SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!!
Is there anyway to get our fellow forumites (mainly newbies, but not always) to use the search engine before they ask a question??
Maybe make it so you can't post before the search engine has been used?? I really don't mind sharing any wisdom or opinion which I may have. I don't know about you others, but I'm getting damn tired af answering the same old stupid questions over and over. I've even stopped posting a "the seach engine is your friend" post. Are people just to fuckin' lazy to do a search?? Is it that mush easier to post the same shit over and over?? Man this is shit getting OLD. :biggun: :puke: :biggun: :puke: :biggun: :puke: :biggun: :puke: :biggun:

It won't last because YOU are too !! (Getting old, that is....and it will just bother you MORE as time goes along.) Incase you hadn't noticed the younger generation has an overwhelming sense of entitlement and an overwhelming lack of personal responsibility. But, OTOH, if a few of the simple questions weren't repeated occasionally, all we would be left with would be welcome messages and a few ride reports. I agree with what you said but it, apparently, doesn't bother me near as much.

Getting old is already bothering me. I don't recognize the face in the mirror.
You're right about the younger gens, but isn't that what OUR parents said??

That's pretty much the way it worked out too. Doesn't seem to work that way anymore.

Re: USE THE DAMN SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!!
I understand the frustration of seeing the same questions over and over but Easy has a good point, there's only so many questions and if nobody ever repeats any of them then there wouldn't be much to talk about on here. Besides, it gives others a chance to throw in their two cents worth this time around, so if you don't want to answer again, don't answer. I use the search engine to see if something has been asked before and a lot of times it has, but sometimes there's just too many "possibilities" to read all the things that come up in a search and I don't have that much time, so after reading several that may address my question, if I haven't found my exact question, I'll probably post a new one myself.
And yeah, I think every previous generation for all of history thinks the one coming after them isn't worth spit in general, but somehow the big blue ball just keeps on spinning. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: USE THE DAMN SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!!
I rarely use a search engine anywhere. As for newbies asking questions rather than searching I welcome this. 1st, it forces me to think and 2nd it gives newbies a chance to get to know us and we get to know them. Our whole life style has become too impersonal for my tastes.
What may seem like a brain-dead question to an experienced rider could be a matter of life and death to a newbie. I have answered a few PMs from newer riders that they might have been afraid to ask on the forum because of kneejerk comments from some of us old guys and gals. Remember, we were all newbies at one time. And this also applies to experienced riders as well. Getting a different bike and being a lot short in the info department puts you back in the newbie category for a while. The internet and forums are the greatest way to share our collective knowledge base. How happy would we be if we had to rely on dealers for everything ??????? Jumping off the soapbox now.. |

Re: USE THE DAMN SEARCH ENGINE!!!!!!!
Hang in there, Sarris. Most of them will buy bigger bikes and go somewhere else before too long. :poke2:
