The GZ is designed for use in third world countries where they can use cat piss if necessary, so just use the cheapest gas you can find. As the carb is the Achilles heel of the GZ, I used to add a capful of fuel additive/carb cleaner with every fill up.

Just use the cheapest gas from a major producer. Most if not all top tier producers have a quality fuel and the cheapest is all you will ever need.

Ditto on the cheap gas. I usually use 87 octane regular. I found that using a higher octane fuel made my GZ run worse.

87 Octane Ethanol free. I don't ride my GZ as much, Ethanol starts to go bad in a few weeks so I don't want it sitting in the tank. I also add a little Marvel Mystery Oil to the gas at each fill up, helps keeps the system clean.

Ride to Iowa and load up on 98 octane!

Seriously tho, great advice by the others above. I’ve always used super at chevron on everything because grandpa worked at standard oil for 40 years but I’m gonna try 87 and look for performance +/-

87 might actually work better than 98 by a fair bit. The GZ is designed with 87 or less in mind and the controlled burn properties of a lower octane.
