AC OR DC CDI on a 2000 GZ250?
Does anyone know? There are a green/blue assuming this is the pulser/trigger,
then just 3 yellow for the rectifier... wouldn't there be 2 more wires if it were an AC unit? I'm assuming the cdi gets its power from the battery rather than coming from the stator? Thanks....Newbie here..... Login or Register to Remove Ads Last edited by Deckerator; 09-22-2020 at 03:08 PM. |

I would assume so since it is a 12 volt DC system.

Sorry for a 3 month late response. But yes, those 3 wires are AC from the stator going to the rectifier to provide DC to the battery. Those 2 extra wires are what contains the small pulse to the CDI telling it RPM/position and when to fire. Attached is the ignitor I ended up using for my gz250.

I would really like to know what web site you purchased this ignitor and a basic wire diagram. My bike was missing both the ignition coil and CDI. I would like to save over a hundred bucks on a used unit. Your bike seems to run fine? I would be very grateful on how you made it work. Thanks
