Re: Heres a few of mine...

More power to ya' buddy.

I was just watching a re-run of an old "Flight of the Conchords" where Bret and Jermaine are set up in the tourism show next to Australia (the Australian guy being a douche, naturally) and I was wondering - are these fellows well known in NZ? (In addition to the Conchords, Murray was promoting the Lord of the Rings sets.)

Not hugely popular that I know of, although they just ran a FOTC marathon on sky tv just lately showing all the episodes to date. Cant say their style of humor appeals to me, but I understand they are popular in the US? Also I think Bret had a small role in LOTR?

Very nice pics. Would love to trade places with you right now. Temps are slightly above or below freezing with a combo of snow/rain overcast skies or fog. This is one of the nicer places in the GWN. This winter has been exceptionally harsh North of the equator so I know we are not alone in our grief.

Re: Heres a few of mine...

Today was a good illustration of So Cal range: Last night it was 16F in Wrightwood, warmed up to about 34ish when I got up there this morning to ski (an hour drive from my house), 26ish at the top. Did eight runs and went into work. By the time I pulled into my office parking lot it was about 65. I have had days in March where I have left the house at 85F... to go skiing!

Although I rode the GZ up there to pick up my pass, I have yet to ride up there on the bike to actually ski. It's very doable temperature-wise (as long as it's not actually snowing) - just don't have a place to put my skis, poles and boots.

Re: Heres a few of mine...

O_o Oh man it NEVER gets that cold here. Maybe down in the South Island closer to antarctica. I shiver and run for a jersey at say 9 or 10C. Maybe in the dead of winter we might have a couple -3C frosts but 16F thats like minus 9C!!!! We have been having 15C thru the night and mid to high 20s thru the daytime. When I took the photos on sunday morning it was 9.30am ish and a reasonable 22C, comfy riding in jeans and a jacket.. Most people are still on holiday at the mo so the roads are fairly quiet, that makes for some great riding. Water Warrior what u mean GWN?? :??:

Re: Heres a few of mine...

Skis, poles and boots can be put on a bike. Saw a larger bike go by with ski equipment and golf clubs. Probably had a fishing pole in there too. Have also seen a canoe filled with camping gear sporting wheels and being towed behind a mid sized bike. A lot of ideas out there just lurk on a few different forums and pick up ideas that will work for you. A street bike trailering a dirt bike is quite common here too.
