Hi from Illinois

Recently bought a nice 2003 GZ250 and love it!

It's the third one in my garage, the other two are both Yamaha's, a 1985 FZ750 Genesis and a 2003 Royal Star Venture. I bought the GZ as a first bike for my girlfriend. She's done a few "lessons" already.

Anything I should watch out for?

Re: Hi from Illinois

Hi there, & welcome to the madhouse.

The main problem with the GZ is the carb. Get yourself some carb cleaner, and add it to the fuel tank every 3 or 4 fillups. That should keep it running smooth and save carb stripdowns in the future. :2tup:

Welcome

and ditto

We also have weaker charging systems and need a healthy battery to avoid problems. So get a tender.

Welcome to the forum from South Carolina. I highly recommend your girlfriend attend your local MSF BRC (Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course). It's the best investment in her safety that she can make.

Re: Hi from Illinois

Welcome, I also just joined up recently. Found lots of helpful information on here. You wouldn't happen to be a fellow Packers fan?
