Mirror arm nut size question

Hello,

The left side mirror arm keeps swinging towards me as I reach higher speeds and the wind resistance picks up. I have a picture of the nut I think I need to tighten to fix this (correct me if I am wrong).

However, I cannot find the socket that fits this nut. Anyone know the size of the nut that I am pointing at in the picture?

Re: Mirror arm nut size question

To tighten the mirror arm, use one of the wrenches from the GZ250 tool kit to tighten the bigger hex nut at the low side of the vertical stem. Clockwise, looking from above.

The little nut you're pointing to is probably 9mm, but irrelevant, I think it clamps the mirror assembly to the handle bar.

Re: Mirror arm nut size question

I stopped by our local hardware stores and they couldn't find a socket that fit this nut??? o.O I constantly have to push my left mirror arm forwards because it keeps swinging towards me when I pick up speed. Argggg.

Any other ideas?

Re: Mirror arm nut size question

Like 5th_bike said, you need to tighten the larger nut underneath where it attaches to the handlebar while holding on to the mirror stalk. Any adjustable wrench should be able to be used for that or if you have the tool kit that came with the bike, it should be in there.

You don't need a socket. You need a wrench.

The nut you're pointing at is *not* the right one to tighten the mirror bar.

Re: Mirror arm nut size question

Yes, it's not the nut have to be tighten initially but the socket that holds the bar.... :hide:
