I just Bought a 2006 Suzuki Gz250
My name is Johnathan. And I am addicted to cafe racers. Like the title says i just bought a gz250.
It runs great and is a little rough on the paint, But with some hard work and modifactions i think it could make a great cafe style bike. Im excited to join the forum and talk to other motorcycle gurus. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Welcome, and congrats on the bike.
Rough paint or not, we all like pics. Any plans to restore the paint, or just enjoy it as is?

Welcome to the site. The GZ makes a convincing bobber but I am yet to see a reasonably close conversion to a cafe racer. I look forward to seeing how you address the basic differences in frame geometry.

Skunkhome, sounds like you need to go to the gz250's pics thread and scroll down on the first page to kevinj's cafe racer thread. Check that out!!

Re: I just Bought a 2006 Suzuki Gz250
I have seen that and though it is a good looking bike but I am sorry it is not by any shade of the imagination a cafe racer. It looks very much like a vintage pre-WWII Royal Enfield which predates the cafe racers by at lease 25years.
1950's Royal Enfield This is an example of a classic cafe racer form...note the straight frame and peg positions of a standard motorcycle. |
