Traded my GZ today

I've been thinking about it for a couple of weeks now, and finally found the deal that works for me. They gave me trade of just a few hundred less than what I paid for the bike minus the windshield and the engine guard. I guess the small bikes new or used usually only last about a week on the show room floor. I purchased my GZ in April and was almost to 6,000 miles when I traded.

I traded for a 2008 Yamaha V-Star Custom, black with white ghost flames. I tried taking a picture of it my garage when I got home, but you couldn't see the bike in the picture. I'll try taking some tomorrow. I plan to continue being an active member of the thread, I've made friends with Easy, and I enjoy the crap out reading Sarris, Alans, and Patricks writings. So until next time, see you out there

There was a Suzuki SV650 parked beside my bike when I left campus today... I might just convert if I could ever come up with enough cash next summer. It was a slick looking bike. First one I'd seen in person, too.

Re: Traded my GZ today

As others have proven (with emphasis on Dupo), it's not required to have (or even have owned) a GZ to be a contributing and respected member here.

Edits for quicker posters:

Primal, the SV is a great bike, and will likely be my next "new bike" purchase. Did you see the sport version with the full-fairing or the nekkid one?

Yamaha Star motorcycles are a great ride. I had a Roadstar 1700 Midnight Silverado, and it was a super bike. Did you get the V-Star 650?

Good luck brother, and keep on the forum.

Re: Traded my GZ today

Thanks guys, and it is the V-Star 650, I know I won't get as good mpg as the GZ though. They had to order the windshield for the V-Star and when I got on the highway this am, I quickly remembered why I like having a windshield. The low and mid-range power are incredible even though I'm in the break-in period. It runs very smooth @ 60 mph, and little effort. I liked the uniqueness that I felt on the GZ, but I imagine I'll get used to this bike as well.

Rusty,

I really miss my V-Star. I sold mine just a while back. Needed the money as I am living on my savings account right now. I had the classic instead of the Custom. Loved the direct drive.

Hey man, that's great. Now that you have a bigger bike, you can meet me MORE than half way..... ...if we ever get it timed right. I was hoping to get a chance to sit on your revised seat.

I saw the sport version, but I'm a sucker for nekkid bikes. I either want an SV650 or a streetfightered Katana 600 as my next bike.
