I just purchased a gz250, and someone started a café racer build on it, its just not the good. The "café racer seat" aka a board wrap in felt is mounted on the rear fender struts, the fender itself has been removed. Now I like the look, it has front fairings rear mounted pegs and a professional paint job, as well as the clubman handle bars and all the lighting. I just cant get past the seat. So if I would purchase a café racer seat how would I mount it on. Can I use a normal solo seat mounting kit? or what? any info idea will help.

No tools, not much of a problem. Use a piece of cardboard to make a mock-up of what you want. Take it to a metal fab shop and give them the mock-up. Specify any tabs for mounting and go home. Borrow a drill and you can almost do the job blindfolded. Any big box hardware will have any needed nuts, bolts or washers you need. Get Metric if they have it.
For a foam piece on the seat pan I would be looking for something quite firm and durable. A good material would be a kneeling pad from a garden center or hardware. Tough and long lasting material that can be cut to fit the pan. More than one layer can be glued on the pan for comfort and height.
This is what I would do so let your imagination run wild. There are many possibilities and many have been explored here on the forum. A combination of builds may be what you want so don't rule out a particular design as goofy.
