Carb cleaning over the winter

Hello again y'all,

Im about to take the carb off the bike and give it a good clean over the winter. First question Ive got is about taking off the choke connection at the carb. It looks like a brass hex fitting. Basically just unscrew it off and thats it? Is there anything tricky about removing the choke cable from the carb?
Once I have the carb in my hand, my local suzuki dealer suggested I buy their carb cleaner which works super well against varnish. Anybody have any suggestions as far as whether or not to replace the needle while its out? or anything else while im in there?
Or suggest another chemical to use to clean the jets and stuff?
Thank you!!

if the bick is running good do not mes with the carb unless yo planing to mod it.

if you planing for a long storing ad some fuel stabilizer and run the engine for some time to flush the carb.

use a battery tender to extend the life of the battery

What Raul said. If it ain't broke don't fix it. If the bike is running well for you just do the stabilizer and hook up a tender for an hour every couple of weeks.
