top box and side cases totaling 132 liters total

this is a stock suzuki luggage rack with the backrest-sissybar portion cut off to allow a 52 liter kappa top case, i then bought 2 used v-storm oem sidecases, made by kappa , 40 liters a piece, and made homemade mounts using 17.00 worth of hardeware, and scrap plywood. none of them are quick release , but i had a smal top box that was detachable and in 2 years never removed it so i figured it wasnt that important.the bike rides the same, i took a 110 mile trip , did 70 mph on I-5, i checked all mounts and everything is solid, and stable on bumps and hwys,and got the same 75 mpg, its a lil heavy feeling when you get it off the kickstand and push out the driveway, but then cant tell the difference.i ride 2 up a lot my wife likes the setup, says it makes her feel less leg wind.i basicly havent used the cage all summer.

Plenty of room to get those atomic batteries to power, and turbines to speed.

I didn't know you could attach a whole motorcyle to your luggage. What will they think of next?

Like Alan inferred, you have to wonder if you're actually driving the luggage instead of the motorcycle. How many refrigerators have you hauled on that thing?

gzrider.......load up the wife and come to Squamish for a coffee. I'll buy of course. Another good point of large luggage is you make a larger target for cagers to avoid. Plenty of room for reflective tape too.

That certainly is a lot of luggage. I really like the ingenuity used to mount it all, and I'm also surprized that there wasn't any change in performance. Welcome to the forum's. :rawk:

Larger luggage will affect handling at higher speeds on some bikes. Probably not the GZ as it's speed is not extreme. But do be careful if you try to see how fast it goes with luggage that size.

I got tired of being told what I could do and couldnt do .When I was looking at the machine I knew it could be done, it just hadnt been done yet. I lived overseas, in Sri lanka, their goverment has a cap on the importation of motorcycles over 250 cc due to their energy policy,I saw entire families driving on a bike,the dad driving the mom on the rear seat, a kid on the tank a kid on the rear luggage rack. it told me the 250 was capable of much more that we give it credit in north america. they use it to haul stuff you wouldnt believe, they have lower speed limits though but still, i got fed up being told the GZ wasnt capable. The 93 Geo metro was pushed by 835 cc's,and thats a 4 seater auto. I know that 250 cc is powerfull enough to do more than what it gets credit for. I get tired of the less than important attitude the dealers give me when I deal with them, always telling me to move up in bike if I want more from it than what thay believe it will do. So I didnt take no for an answer, and made it work for me.
