How fast are you guys getting your bikes to go? I have a hard time getting mine above 75-80.

Whoa........slow down!...........unless you want a blown engine..... Geezers are what they are - town bikes - not racing bikes. If you want more than 60-65MPH on a regular basis, you need a bigger, more powerful bike.

Oh yeah, slow down a bit. The sweet spot for the GZ is 60-65 mph and it is happy with that speed. After that you will start to stress the engine and shorten it's life dramatically. Keep in mind that is on flat ground with no head wind.

May I suggest you could modify your GZ by converting to cash which could be used towards a Ninja 500? :whistle:

i keep mine at around 55 - 60 even on the hwy. if people dont like it they can go around me, my bikes longivity is way more important to me than keeping it at WAO on the freeway so i can keep up. i have only gotten my bike up to that speed once, how do you do it?

When there is no wind my bike will hit 75 no problem. To get 80 I usually have to go downhill. The bike also performs better in cold weather. AS far as the life of the bike goes, I picked this bike up for $650 and I have been riding it for 2 yrs. It has already lasted long than I thought it would. The ninjas are nice but I am looking at Triumphs for the next bike and this one will go to the wife.

I don't really but I do know Lynda had her GZ loaded for touring and hit 80 mph on a straight stretch of flat road. I clocked her with my bike and then played with the GPS and calculator to get more accurate numbers because of speedo error on the bikes. 80 on a GZ is a rush but Lynda said it sounded about ready to genade.
