M-50 IS HOME.

Last Saturday the GZ went to it's new home and today the M-50 came to live with us. We picked up the bike yesterday and hauled it to the local Yamaha dealer who unloaded it and put crash bars on it this morning. Lynda was really thrilled and basically waved good bye to me as she went for her first ride on the much bigger bike. She is all smiles and ready to ride around the world now. The 800 cc V-twin sure sounds nice without being loud.

Will try to talk Lynda into posting some pics. I don't do them myself b/c I tend to be really inept on a computer.

Re: M-50 IS HOME.

At last, Lynda finally got to ride her M 50. 3 weeks and 6 days after bringing it home the weather finally cooperated and away we went. Went along Squamish Valley Road which parallels the river most of the way. Mostly flat but nice curves to follow and get the feel of the bike. And yes I will try to bug her for pics.
This M can and will be a great touring machine. Lynda has already bought Nelson-Rigg soft luggage, bags and top case, a drivers backrest, wind shield(goes on tomorrow with modifications completed) Stebil air horn(on order) and driving lights. Forgot to mention crash bars too. Heated grips are a must in the GWN so they are on order.
Does this have anything to do with the GZ ? Sure does. The GZ was Lynda's first bike and did it's job wonderfully. It allowed her to develope riding skills and confidence to tackle a cross country ride of more than 3000 miles. All kinds of weather, rain, wind, cold, hot, windy days on all kinds of roads and of course a muddy wet gravel country road to her brother's farm. The GZ doesn't mind being outgrown and going to a new rider to do it's job all over again. If cost was no object I am sure the GZ would still be with us today but the "M" is a bigger investment so funds were needed.
Will we forget the GZ ? No, not in this lifetime !
