LED kit installed on the shadow (video)
I finally got HALF of the LED kit installed on the shadow. Engine area is done .... still need to get the wheels (front/rear) done and lit up.
Purchased the kit from SSRider on the shadow forum i frequent. They are flexible LED strips .. very much like Custom Dynamics Stingerz lights (google it). Much cheaper through SSRider though. If anyone is interested, i can post a link to his site, dont have it on me as i type this. So anyways, heres the light kit video: [youtube:lwlfo7mz]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSPR-atX7XU[/youtube:lwlfo7mz] Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Awesome stuff. How much draw is that on the charging system?

LEDs will draw almost nothing at all. The circuitry to control the color changes very likely draws more current than the LEDs themselves.

Awesome. Pimp my ride. That should make you stand out and pretty noticeable if you have them on riding at night. Probably too much of a distraction for YOU.

Depending on the color and location, extra lighting like this might be ILLEGAL on a moving vehicle. It varies some by location (State) but things that blink or change colors are, I think, illegal everywhere .......again on public roads, on a moving vehicle. Just FYI for anybody thinking about doing it.

:plus1:
Here, the changing colors is illegal, but the lights themselves are not unless the bulbs themselves are visible. Indirect lighting is okay. That still doesn't mean you won't get noticed and have a convenient little "roadside chat" with an officer every once in a while though.

Re: LED kit installed on the shadow (video)
I'm fairly sure that here in Florida, no exposed bulb, they can't flash, and they can't be green, yellow, or red if on while riding.
The man generally frowns on them being on while riding, and doing so may lead to a frendly chat/search by your local LEO. I like the look, but I don't do them. Don't need no close encounters of the 4th kind. :chop:

Far out light show. The bike would look kinda neat parked in front of StarBucks in the twilight.

Maybe if you could put a dry ice hopper under the bike, to get some smoke effect going.....
