Hello! Might buy used GZ250 soon.
Hello Riders!
I'm going to be looking at a used GZ250 this week and was happy to see there's a rider's community for it. Also happy to see the thing does have at least a fair reputation. I'm buying it for three reasons: (1) Something to ride while I upgrade and customize my larger bike: A Kawasaki KLR650 Dual purpose. I do my own mechanical work mostly, and, having a secondary or "backup" bike means I won't feel pressured to rush and finish whatever I happen to be doing to the KLR just so I can have something to ride! (2) Reports of good gas mileage and apparently able to criuse at 65 MPH for moderate distances. (3) Affordable used units are available. I'll let you all know how it goes! Bye for now. Re: Hello! Might buy used GZ250 soon.
Welcome to the forum and I hope it works out for you. :2tup:
While it IS capable of cruising at 65 for a while, the engine will sound like it is revving too much and it could take a while to get there (you could stretch 4th gear to 8000 rpm=65 mph), anything beyond that is a matter of conditions and your willingness to put your nose on the speedometer.
