Lubing Choke Cable

Has anyone taken apart the the choke switch housing on the handlebar to lube the choke cable. What are the does and don'ts. I can find nothing specific. I am concerned about taking it apart and having things fall out since it houses the headlight switch and turn signal switch, etc.

I would try from the carb to lube it. I can't remember the ins and outs of the GZ with the tank off. But you could suspend the carb end and drip some oil or ATF into the cable housing. Give it some time to work it's way down.

I had the same issue, my cable is frozen up. I'd like to replace it but I can't figure out which of these cables is the actual part.

None of them....Thats the two throttle cables & the clutch cable.

In retrospect, that's a "duh" moment. Uh, you know where the choke cable would be in the OEM parts list?

The part labeled 22 in the diagram. OEM part number 58410-13F00. If you look at the parts list. only one of the throttle cables is shown but it has two part numbers. The starter cable is the part you want. On a constant velocity carb it is technically not a choke like on a cars carburetor but rather an enricher or as they label it starter.
