Adding a tach???

I'm just wondering if anyone has added a tach to thier bike? I just like the look of a mini one on there. I went looking on shmeebay and found a universal "harley" tach that had this in the auction...
(This auction is for a Brand New Mini Tachometer

This electronic, 12-volt mini tachometer is chrome plated.

Includes mounting bracket and 12-volt dial light

Fits all Harely models with a single fire, 12-volt system

The diameter of this tach is 2-1/2 inches)

Would this work on the GZ???

Did you get any offline replies to this question? I'm also curious if the HD mini tachs will work on my GZ.

You need a "single fire" tach. As far as i know the GZ coil fires once on the ignition stroke and not on the exhaust stroke. Making it single fire. If i am wrong, somoene point it out. But thats the tach you are going to need.

I'm gonna try this one. It'll be a while until I have time to install it. I'll post if it works or not.[/url]

I added the tach that was in my link above. :rawk: I believe it's the same one available on ebay. It was stoopidly simple to add. Later this week I'll write up a "How to" with pictures. It is interesting to see what RPM is what speed. I sure hope the redline on this bike is more like 10-12,000 rpm. Either that or I'm over reving the engine. The tach only indicates 8k rpm but the needle goes past that. When I would let it rev till it got "buzzy" the needle on the tach was past pointing straight down.

Sportvue makes a HUD that has a tachometer. I don't know what one of these puppies costs but I have add this to my wish list.
