Anybody ever get mistaken for a cop?

I was on the way in yesterday, when I became somewhat annoyed with the pickup in front of me. The driver had slowed down to 30 (which is about 5 miles less than posted, but it's a steep downhill and everyone usually does 45+.) Being a sexist racist, I took a peak into the cab to see if a lady or (insert racist, ageist stereotype here) was driving. It was a young white male who happened to be furtively putting his seat belt on. I realized at that point he had mistaken me for a motorcycle cop. (It happens to be a stretch where these guys prey on us from time to time. Lots of stop signs and speed traps. Plus we have a new cell phone law.)

As we continued, he came to a complete stop at the lights (no California Roll!), was careful to use his blinkers and even turned his rap music down. I was laughing to myself, because I am so not a cop! I do dress all in black and look a bit like those Dirty Harry MC cops, but the guys out here use Beemers, with windshields, etc. none of which I remotely resemble.

Eventually the road widened out to two, then three lanes. I pulled up next to him in the double left turn lanes, and gave him a wave. He looked a bit startled - I think he still thought I was a cop.

Probably had sparked one up before heading into work. :bong:

You should've pulled him over and "confiscated" his stash.

Re: Anybody ever get mistaken for a cop?

I've noticed people driving slow in front of me once or twice since I got my windshield. I wondered if that might be why, but I have a black full face helmet with a tinted visor. And my boots are sort of reddish. Not very cop like.

Well, only one time:

Maybe that's why I've always had an interest in becoming a LEO.... :??: That, or maybe my uncle being a detective (and a motorcycle officer at that)......or my dad going through the police academy.........naaa, couldn't be any of those things
Ride safe

It's funny. That's exactly how I've always pictured how you look...right down to the half-helmet.
