Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
Damn..........the viewing point's gone. On Monday I've got to visit a friends house, & I'll be going past a viewing point at Humbolt. It's reported that the explorer Humbolt looked down from there into the La Orotava valley, & said that it was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
I tried my damndest yesterday to get myself in front of a retired military aircraft, but it just couldn't happen.
About 30 miles south of my location, there used to be a military scrap yard/museum for decommissioned aircraft. They had rocket propelled capsules, older helicopters, some larger Navy cargo planes... all kinds of stuff. So I set off on my adventure shortly after 5pm. Around 6:30, because I got lost twice and had to turn around several times to find this out-of-the-way road, I arrived at Mercer field, just South of Calhoun Georgia. From a great distance, I could see the windsock still blowing in the wind out on the old runway, so I was pretty stoked as I came around the bend, approaching the airfield. I imagined all of the amazing photos that I could get, with the mighty China-bike sitting juxtaposed in front of vintage aircraft in the setting sunlight. However, much to my disappointment, all that was left of the once bustling Mercer Airfield, was a hanger and a dead rattle snake... However, not one to go home empty handed, and wanting to be able to continue the Tag-o-Rama game, I did find a small collection of airplanes, that I think, for the purpose of the game, totally count. I was once at a place where military planes were shown, plus I got a photo with a plane... albeit kind of dinky. 3 PLANES! BOOYA! Anyway, here comes the new tag: VINTAGE PASSENGER RAIL CAR - (or anything having to do with vintage railroad stuff.) This particular car ran on the Southern Crescent line, from NYC to New Orleans, with stops in D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, and Birmingham. |

I can handle that.... It was that or a cemetery; but I didn't want to be so macabre. |
