i have
16 t
140 main jet
2.5 turns on the pilot
unrestricted air cleaner
cruse speed at 70-75mi an with good conditions 80 mi
with out the carburator mods do not go over 60 mi

mode air filter ( do not mode the filter without change the main jet )

Guys,

Just wanted to let you all know this is a great thread. I'll be removing my airbox and going to a pod filter here shortly. I'm also changing the exhaust so I will definitely be working thru my first jet swap. Wish me luck.

I just replaced my exhaust with a slip on and added an open air filter. I'm running on a 120, I am planning on changing the jet tonight. Gonna start with a 130 and go from there. I Was able to ride this morning (mainly cause I had no choice) I noticed a definite decrease in power but was still able to get to around 60mph. Can't wait to see what happens when I get the new jet in.

Also, I did try to remove the lower carb assembly last night but the bolts were on there pretty good. Do I need to worry about damaging anything if I torque on it? Thanks

Use the proper screw heads or you can strip those things. I once cracked the plastic diaphragm cover because those damn things on there so tight. (I ended up repairing that with some epoxy, but that's another story.)

A good quality set of tiny vice grips worked well for me and it's good to have in your arsenal. There is enough screw head exposed that you can clamp it on there and then break the screw free. Unthread it the rest of the way with your screw driver or fingers or whatever you want to use. But I always turn to a locking set of vice grips for stubborn screws.

Smaller pieces like that, be aware of their fragility... But they aren't delicate. Use some oomph.

I basically striped out the drain screw on my carb, now it requires a pair of vise grips. I think I may replace all of my carb screws with bolts to prevent striping anything else.

Hopefully someone will answer even if it's an old post.

I'm building a bobber with a K&N like filter.

So to resume :

140 main jet
more or less 2.5 turns on the pilot.
NO CHANGES to the needle.
NO CHANGES to the pilot jet.

16T or not makes any differences ?

Also, someone has a link to a post that shows a picture to where exactly drill the holes on the exhaust tip ?
