It is a good delaying tactic for Monkey Butt.

Re: All alone

Lynda should have completed her 2nd day of the ride back to the coast. Hope she finds a puter friendly hotel.

No cellphone? Landline? You need to get a Spot Messenger so you can track her on Google maps on the computer.

Re: All alone

Must have had a senior moment a while ago. This is her 1st day back on the road. Just talked to her a short time ago. Windy as all get out with a top speed of maybe 90 kms for safety. Sounds happy and relaxed. Had a good visit with brother Bill, went flying for a while too. Saw everyone needing to be seen plus one (bonus) sister in the area.
Her brother manage to knock over the bike pushing it out of the hanger. Boy was he embarrassed. Big crashbars are the second best investment on a bike weighing more than 600 lbs loaded. ...........Just for fun, what is the best investment? Applies to all bikes. No, not loud pipes.

Re: All alone

My best investment has always a wind shield.Second would be saddle bags.

She should have kicked his plane for dumping over her bike.

His red face was well worth the laughter that he had to endure.

On a side note. When talking to Lynda last night I asked if the bike was using any oil. None. Must be the Shell Rotella 15-40 formula doing it's magic. The Vstrom didn't use more than a drop on my road trip.
Got an E-mail today and she shut down early today due to windy conditions. Prairie winds are relentless and energy draining.

Now that you mention it,when I first bought my 454 I used Amsoil 10-40.It would use about a half a liter every 5000 kms. This spring I changed to Rotella-t 15-40 because of the cost.12000 kms later, never lowered a drop between oil changes.

Re: All alone

Have you thought about a Spot Messenger to keep track of her or you if you take a trip (or at least know where the motorcycle is)?
I recently bought one down here at Best Buy for $27 and it came with a flotation case, LED flashlight, carabiner keychain, safety whistle, and a coupon for 15% off the first year's service for tracking and help/distress calls and other notifications. I haven't used it yet but the price was so low I couldn't pass it up, and it doesn't only have to be used on a motorcycle - my friends use it for boat and car trips and hiking in the woods.

Re: All alone

Spot sounds like an idea. Probably not available here though. And if it is I can be assured it will be very expensive. Amazing what that border does with electronic devices.
