Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
God! Look at that weather you're having! It's snowing here. You guys are safe from me for a couple of days at least, maybe four - they can't predict weather here this time of year.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
Old tag museum,
The Cavalry museum is in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. My mom's older brothers told me that as kids they used to come down here and watch the soldiers train with their horses. The area behind this museum was called the Parade Ground, and is totally enclosed by a street in an oval shape. (Think football field with a track around it). The main difference being that the "field" is huge. Today the grounds are part of the local Recreation association and there are 6-7 baseball fields inside that oval and still there's an open field 2-3 times the size of a football field left untouched. The outside perimeter of the oval was originally soldier's barracks and officers homes. The officers homes have mostly been restored and are beautiful old houses now and most of the barracks are now serving as multi-unit apartments. New Tag, Antique Cars: |

I have to "ride" by my old Volkswagen when I go riding, so I guess "technically speaking" it would fall under the rules, wouldn't really entice me to go on a long ride to find one though so I guess it would defeat the purpose of the game, so it would probably be frowned upon like Alanc's old/new tag without moving his bike was. I just wish I would have seen this one earlier, I went downtown to the Corvette rally they have here every year, there were antique cars aplenty down there, Mmmm... Maybe I need to go on a night ride.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
Since the purpose of the game is basically to motivate us to ride, I'd at least recommend that you don't use a car at your home. I could have taken a picture of my bike beside my pick up truck and it technically would have been an antique, but not what the "spirit" of the game seems to be about. I just happened across this antique car "gathering" on my way to the Cavalry museum. There were probably 40-50 cars parked along Lafeyette street in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, and people were just out walking up and down the street admiring the cars. The cars seemed to range from old Model T types up to the "muscle cars" of the sixties mostly, and everything in between. Some of them were still rust buckets but most were fully restored. It was cool to see them and everybody seemed to be having a nice time. The weather couldn't have been any better, slight breeze and temps in the mid 70's.

Re: Tag-o-rama Gone Global
I love antique car shows! Unfortunately they don't start up around here this early. I haven't seen any on the road yet this year. There is a very active antique car collecting/restoring community in this state. You can even get special plates for them, cheaper, but you can only drive on weekends/holidays or some such - not exactly sure of the details.
