Re: Riding my bike....and it dies. Help?

Ok, i pulled and replaced the plug, checked the hoses(they all seemed in good condition), put everything back together, and double checking everything to make sure it was in order. Now, I try and start the bike and the battery is dead. I've had this problem a few times before and have replaced the battery less than a year ago. Before when it happened I charged the battery using a charger specifically for bikes, and that seemed to keep the battery alive for a while. I'll try and get a hold of the charger I used last time, but does it sound like something else might be the cause of the loss of charge so quickly?

It could be caused by a lot of things, including 'user error'.
Some folks, when they turn the key to 'off' go past the 'off' position
and end up with the key in the position where the back light is on.
Some only ride their bikes on very short trips, wearing down the battery
from starting the bike but not riding long enough to recharge the battery.
Some folks don't charge a new battery before they use it. Glad to
see that you didn't skip that.
It might be a short somewhere, or a corroded or loose connection.
Then again, it could be the charging circuit. Check the output of the stator,
and the rectifier/regulator according to the manual.
Let us know what you find.
