I have never understood this mentality...just because something is cheap and/or has lasted longer than expected is not a good reason to tear it up...that is unless the reason you bought it is to test it out by pushing it to the max...but doesn't really sound like that is the case here. I like taking care of my stuff, even if its on its last leg, I can't stand doing anything to any of my items that could ever harm them or compromise them. My car has 209,000 miles on it and I still baby it....and it still runs just fine! lol

So far the best I've done is about 70 and that was full throttle.
It was pretty windy that day so maybe I will get to do better.
I rode on the back of my brother's Scooter the other day.
We got it up to 90. He said alone he had done 115.

Oh yeah, some of the bigger scooters can really hustle. The big Honda and Suzuki scooters are fine machines but come with a drop dead price tag.

Yeah...$9000+ for a new Honda Silverwing is just crazy to me.
My brother was lucky to find one up in Maine that was bought
by an old man that put just a few hundred miles on it before
he died. It was sitting in a garage and was traded in to a
Dealer by the son for something else. My brother got it
for about $4300 and it cost about $700 to ship here.

boo! hiss! I've never heard of a scooter that could outrun a motorcycle. How did the scooter get above 30? I thought scooters only had one gear?

Scooters have constant variable transmissions (CVT). It's a pulley that expands based on speed and load. Ingenious, relly.
I had a 150 that could do 70 mph and could pace most road bikes off the line. They start to loose "Umph" around 50 mph though.
