Re: Took out a bird on my way to work today

My theory on surviving a motorcycle crash is to avoid having one!

Re: Took out a bird on my way to work today

Okay, I added another reason to wear a face shield today. I drove thru sleet for 30 minutes just below Dalton, Georgia this morning. It cleared off for the last 1/2 hour of my ride and just as I put the bike inside my shop it started snowing here. We've got over 3" on the ground now and it's still coming down, I know that's nothing for you Northerner's but we southerners just aren't set up for this kind of weather. The highways here are almost shut down, especially where they cut thru the ridges and over bridges. Cars sliding all over the place on the DOT traffic camera's, and most of the roads up the local mountains are closed. Mont Eagle Mountain (I-24) between Chattanooga and Nashville, is a big sheet of ice right now.

Sunny and 66 here today, about 3 degrees "chillier" than average. We can see snow in the mountains though... Yesterday it was over 70 - a very nice biking day.

Right now it's 2 degrees F, and we're going to have a high in the teens. Hasn't actually gotten below zero here this Winter yet, though, which is unusual. I'm knocking on wood. Usually we have a run or two of days where the lows are 10 below or so, and the highs are in single digits.

Anybody have a condo/house/rental available in that general area ??
