Sorry, but the way you've written this makes no kind of sense. There's no oil reservoir on the gz, & the window doesn't need to be FULL - just between the empty/full marks. What EXACTLY do you mean? When you fill up the oil from empty (e.g. for an oil change) the book says that you need 1.3 litres (I don't know what that is EXACTLY in American measures, but it's ROUGHLY a quart), so can you tell us (in real terms) how much you put in. :??:

"Tempests" are not unusual around here.......but something good usually comes of it !!

You have half of "two hurt bikes to make one"; whether you buy or sell depends partly on your ambition......but mostly on fate.

Either way, I wish you good luck in finding a "mate".

Re: Let me introduce myself

The more I think about your troubles, I believe that there was some oil in the GZ, just not enough.

Alan, 1.3 liters is 1.37 U.S. quarts or 1.1 Imperial quarts. Loosely defined the crank case could be called a reservior as it shows the amount of oil in storage for use when the engine is running. Not being a smart ass just my past life making an appearance.
