Did anyone notice that the video he posted has absolutely no treble in the audio? I'd be willing to bet that the bike doesn't sound anything like that in person.

If you want, I can post a recording of the Strat. You can just play that through some speakers in the saddlebags. No holes, no welding, no carb shim/trim/needle effery - and probably legal in most states! If you get sick of it, Sarris can record his HD.

Where do you get this from?

I put cobra pipes on my bike, hypercharger, Big City Thunder Baffles and a rejet ... and it sounds mean as hell .... and gained in HP. If making a bike sound better worsened the running cond of the bike, people wouldnt do it.

Two buddies of mine just swapped their pipes for a meaner sound. Had the bikes done at the Harley shop and Dyno'd and both of them gained HP.

When i did the pipe swap on the GZ .... it ran much better and had a little more pep to it.

Re: sounds so much like a toy

Dude, find my write up on the GZ muffler swap. I put that EXACT same pipe on my GZ. Sounded great, was loud and obnoxious and gave me some pep increase.

It wont sound like a v twin ... but it'll make some noise.

I like my big ass illegal loud and obnoxious shadow much better than the GZ mod i did thats for sure. Nothing beats setting off sensitive car alarms in town at night. Pipes + baffle are about 90% free flow with just a washer baffle in there for back pressure. Open pipe sound but still has backpressure to keep things where they should be. That and with the hypercharger butterflies closing on decel ... it sounds like a jake brake on a rig going down hill.

You are now at stage 1 of 'im going to need a bigger bike'.

This is a very addictive thing I found happened on my Ninja, and only recently on my Shadow. Parking garages are fun.

Re: sounds so much like a toy

Hmm, haven't had mine in a parking garage. Thanks, you just gave me something to do this afternoon in the 65 degree spring teaser day.

To be fair, rejetting isn't ALWAYS necessary, however I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the time it is to get a properly running engine. Besides, the leaner the fuel/air mixture, the hotter the bike runs. Not something I would want to fool with on an air cooled bike.
