Ah....I'm from the other side of the Woodhead pass. Sheffield for the first 21 years, then Rotherham.

Got to ask. Why does the rear end sit so high?? Taller shocks maybe??
The rear light is a running light, brake light and turn signal and yes, larger shocks in the back.

I love that picture... and being reminded that I'm like 1/3 of your age...
I do appreciate the stories though There's nothing better than some Historical narrative and a little European perspective.

Re: Cafe style GZ250

I hated the seat and rear fender so I got rid of them and made a cafe racer style seat for it. Its not perfect but its not bad for about $25 in supplies.

Hey, that's actually pretty cool. Any more info on what you used to make it?

I made the pan out of an old street sign and mounted it on the metal bar salvaged from inside the old fender. I made the cover out of marine vinyl and attached it to the pan with strips of metal and rivets. when that was done I cut the chrome pieces that ran down the fender and mounted it to them and the whole thing is bolted on by them so it can be easily removed in one piece. It was fairly easy and there was no welding involved, just rivets.
