thanks for all the advice... i've been searching around my garage a lot and i get the feeling i might have locked it in the compartment under the seat, haha. i actually had a set of lock picks and i was teaching myself how to pick for just such an occasion but they got up and walked off one night.

is there any way to get the seat off without the key and without damaging anything? i'd rather not pay a locksmith to open it for me.
