Re: Parting out my bike
Amber to clear on front / Amber to red on rear. DID you know that in my home state of Oklahoma the only vehicles (for use on Public roadways) required to have a functioning speedometer are
1. Motorcycles 2. School Buses Using the front lights as running/turn lights on the rear of the bike is just a thought. I had amber LEDs wired to the brake lights and got very favorable remarks from local deputies about how it made the bike standout when stopping or tapping the brakes to make sure I was seen (they just weren't as waterproof as advertised)

The bright element of the front signal would be an excellant way to become more visible on the rear. Up here in the GWN a brake light "must" be red or we suddenly become a person of interest. Heh heh. |

Re: Parting out my bike
Incase I wasn't clear as I seldom am. :skeptical: ... I had the amber led's wired to come on WITH the factory red Tail/Brake light, and would do same with the "front" lights

On my Vstrom I mounted an LED 3.5 inch trailer light just below the OEM rear light and it was very good and much brighter than stock. I also used a brake light modulator on the Vstrom. Lynda's M-50 has a factory LED tail light but the HyperLight LED brake lights she wanted make the OEM light look dim by comparison. The HyperLights flash 4 times and then go on steady when the brakes are applied. Very eye catching. I have read in the recent past that only 4% of accidents involve getting hit from behind on a bike. Still too high a % in my opinion. Just ask the riders with whiplash and broken backs. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Re: Parting out my bike
I'm still interested in the headlight and bracket. Did you have the chance to take a picture of it yet? How much for shipping to 41042?
