i richen it up (moved the needle valve up w/a thin washer, 1/32"). seems to be running much better. but, it's still not idling quite right.

i think i've gone through any/all poss vacume leak. it doesn't seem to have any. but, it does run better when the vacume line to the petcock is disconnected.

i'll look at a the exhaust for a possible restricted flow. one of the pipe does have a dent.

i was also considering the float metering valve/jet. it seem to have a lot of play at the wire clip that attaches it to the floats. i thought this might be the cause of the engine idling down after a few moments...

any thoughts?

also, i can run bike w/the vacume line disconnected if i move the petcock to the by-pass posit. w/petcock in that posit fuel will drain from the tank w/out a vacume source to pull the valve open.

Hello......am I getting out........is my radio broken..........

Could be that the idle mixture screw just needs adjusting (fairly easy if the cover/plug has already been removed).

(From a previous post).
