Ok, the batting gloves, armored mesh jacket, rain suit, and of course, full face helmet are all ready to go. Mike's Excellent Adventure begins tomorrow morning. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and post something in the ride reports after I get back in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, you all take care and ride safe!
PS No, I didn't forget the sun block! |

Mike I have been using bearing grease on my chain for the past 850 kms. It is still well lubed. I used a stiff brush to work both sides of the chain.

I'm back! Gosh, that was FUN!!! I'll write up a ride report and get it posted here this weekend, I hope.
Molly, I didn't need the leather jacket - it was hotter than hell there! Heh heh. I hit 80 and 90 degree temps both directions. Anyway, I'll tell you all about it. Man, what a trip! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Hey Mike Gadzooks, you stole my bike. I debadged mine the same way. I even have the same color bike and the same spitfire windshield.
If another HD or Honda rider asks me one more time if my bike is a Harley, I am going to remove the S from the gas tank, put on HD stickers and place chrome covers over the engine covers. :-) There is a small rebel rally (yes I ride my gz to the rebel rides) in Franklin Ga next month in August. Info can be found at http://www.rebel250.com/rebelforum/view ... hp?t=10222 Any of you GZ riders in the south, come help me crash the party in a fun manner. I am going to ride my gz from Southern Indiana to Franklin Ga. (in one day, yippee). Have fun guys. |

I took a trial run a couple of days ago. Only noticed 2 problems: With the 16T, it's a struggle to maintain 70 mph. 60, no problem.......65, maybe but seems to run out of steam at 70. (Stock except for the sprocket). And then there is the SEAT! :cuss: Looks like I may have a permanent case of butt cramp by the time I get there. Got a gel pad but that don't help much!

Hey Easy Rider,
Go to Dollar General and buy the $6.00 beaded car seat. Fold it the way that feels comfortable to you and ride on it. I did this, rode 120 miles last week and no monkey butt at all. Folded it different last night and rode 100 miles today, didnt like it as much as last weekend but a very cheap fix. Warning, it will sit you higher and your reference points will be changed. If you dont like it, you are only out $6.00 plus tax :-). Keep the rubber side down. |

Easy Rider - most of the roads I was on were of the 45mph to 55mph variety. On the 55mph roads, I normally held it at about 60. Without the 16T sprocket, it would have vibrated and screamed too much. I didn't have any of that with the 16T. Any you're right, even with the gel pad, it's a struggle to keep the bottom happy. I just tried to do an hour, then stop (gas, water, coffee) for about 10 minutes or so. Was able to do about 300+ miles per day.
