Bike is squeaking, but stops when I brake

Hey folks! I've been checking out this forum for a while, and it has been really helpful as I navigate owning my first ever bike, a 2008 gz250. Love the community and helpful posters here.

I wanted to get your input on an annoying squeak that I've been trying to get rid of. My front brakes were squeaking for quite a while, and I recently did some work to try and fix it - new brake pads, cleaned and greased the caliper, and applied some disc brake quiet to the backs of the pads. Put it all back together, and somehow, my bike is squeakier than ever..only this time, it's only squeaking when I'm rolling along, and it stops when I apply front brake. So I'm confused!

Nothing like feeling like a badass cruising along, and then having to squeeeak up to a stoplight next to a line of cars and getting a bunch of looks

Any advice on what to try next?? Thanks for reading!

Hmm...the first thing I can think of that isn't the pad vibrating is maybe the rotor is damaged/warped slightly? Any discoloration on the contact surface?

There should be a thin metal shim at the back of the pad, the brake will squeal if that's missing. Otherwise, try cleaning the brake rotor with a solvent.
