Cdi.........
Newbie to the forum🙌 Just got a 2000 gz250, locked up engine....got er unseized and rebuilt...in steipping down the bike i lost (threw away🤦*♂️) the cdi black box......Question? Is this a must have to fire up the bike...I have tried to bench test but am getting no spark, and I’m guessing this is why? ......Any and all help is much appreciated.......🤠👍

yup.
yer going to have to get one and plug it in to the harness. Unlike the days of old where all you needed was a coil and a set of points and condenser and a 12v battery, these days all that stuff is now majically controlled by the cdi. My advice is do not waste money on aftermarket cdi's. Its a crap shoot if you get one that will work for your bike.
