Can you fix an RR?

Just curious if anyone has ever tried to fix a regulator rectifier instead of buying a new one. I'm having a very strange problem where my battery charges highest at idle reaching almost 14.30volts but when I rev it up it dips down to about 13.4 volts. I'm almost positive it's the RR, however, I bought a used one off of Ebay and it didn't fix the problem so it's very possible I bought another defected one. I'm trying to save money so I thought I'd throw this option out there and see if anyone has attempted actually trying to fix the RR. If this is not a viable option (which I'm pretty sure it isn't) I see some on ebay for 10 bucks but they're made in China. Anybody have any luck with those? Does anybody have any suggestions on a dependable inexpensive RR upgrade for GZ250's? Thanks. Josh
