I made a stick
Chain maintenance...............humbug!!! Finally found a cheap way to maintain the chain without a lot of cash for a stand or chasing the bike across the parking lot to lube it. I made a stick that performs just great.
Dimensions are for my Honda so a different length stick should work on the GZ. The stick is 14" long and 13" with the notch cut out. Wrapping the front brake will prevent the bike rolling when you push the bike over to the left to lift the tire a bit to position the stick. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

That is one heck of a stick you made. I had to laugh out loud.
Craftsmanship aside, if it works, then it works. |

Stick 1.0 is a quick version of Stick 2.0 that I was originally going for. Stick 2.0 is in the near future so stand by. Measurements will be more critical but it should be of interest for those who are really wanting to make life easier. Little projects are fun and cheap even if they don't work out. I actually was thinking similarly about using two 4x4 chunks cut to size with a bit larger squares of plywood screwed underneath as a base on each.

Stick 2.0 will have 2 short pieces with a hinge in the middle. No lifting required and easily stored in a saddle bag if needed. I just need a steady hand for my antique handsaw that needs sharpening very badly.
