Bike won't start
Hello everyone,
I bought a 2002 GZ250 for my son. Got it home, and he's riding around the neighborhood practicing before I get him out onto the streets. It died on him at the stop sign and since has not started. It will turn over but will not fire. I don't know much about these bikes. Does anyone have any info on what could be the issue? The battery is charged, it has fuel in the tank, it just won't refire. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Since it died, he has already taken his motorcycle license test and he's ready to get out a ride with his dad. Check the plug and plug wire to make sure it hasn't popped off. Check for spark. Spray some contact spray on the kill switch and work it on and off. Many other things to check but that should do for starters. Others will come on shortly and give you additional advice as need that are smarter than me.

How many miles? Been sitting? Will it start after you "prime" the carb? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Is the fuel petcock turned on?
Do you have fuel to the cylinder? Is the spark plug wet and does it smell like gas? Do you have spark? Pull the plug, rest it on the frame and crank the engine. Do you have compression? Do a compression test
