Sounds like crap.

Just got this 2009 GZ250 from a friend...He said he was heading down road and it just stopped. He got a new bike. LOL the bike sit for two years before i got it... things i did to it. Cleaned tank and new gas, cleaned Crab, new petcock, new oil and filter, Got it on a car battery for now.

i do know it had wayyyyyy to much oil in her. I got her started and it smoked for a good 15 mins then run clean.. when i give her some gas it wants to shut off.

pulled the plug out ,cleaned it some "it did smoke like crazy" run the same... the a new plug will fix her? i do think its the same plug from 2009 LOL

If it's been sitting for two years, the carb is probably gunked up (a common thing with GZs) Try some carb cleaner in the petrol. If that doesn't work you'll probably have to pull the carb and clean it manually. When you do get it running, remember to put a dose of carb cleaner in the tank every three or four fillups. When you get a new battery, no matter what the salesman says about it being good to go, charge it up over night at around 0.75 amps (and certainly no more than 2 amps) Folks who've failed to do this have found that the battery doesn't last very long before they have to buy another. Hope you get it up and running soon.

Just noticed - you said you'd cleaned "crab" thought the typo meant "crap" then just realised you meant "carb". Looks like you may have to do this again.

Got it started

Yea. I try to type fast but i suck at it. LOL

I got her started. Sounds like the timing is out.. Same sound my SuperHawk made when the chain jumped.. The carb was really really dirty. All the jets were closed. IM going to get a new spark plug this weekend. I cleaned it best i could just to start her..

i really don't know how this bike should sound..If it was my SuperHawk i would know it sounds bad you know.

Try to get an NGK DR8EA sparkplug. That's the Suzuki standard for this bike.

Just listened to the video. Sounds like your idle speed could be low. Suzuki says 1200 to 1400 RPM with the engine HOT. Have you tried opening the throttle after you start up, to see if the bike keeps running?

Not unless the keyway in the flywheel gets worn or breaks.
