Yamaha XS1000
We have all heard of the Yamaha XS 1100 but did you know there was a 1000 that never hit the market. It was upgraded to the 1100 before being released to the public. The displacement was increased to compete with Honda's new GoldWing 1000. There was actually an article about it in a bike mag years ago.
