He already took Fawlty's advice, his last time here was more than a year ago. Mounted the pad on his keyboard real well.

Well, I made these stands but I must be missing something. When I try to slide it under the swing arm on the right side the bottom of the stand hits the tire before it gets under the swing arm. I checked all my measurements and they seem to be right. I can straighten the bike up then push the stand under the swing arm from the right, but this is a little dicey for a one-man operation. Does my stand just lean to much? Has anyone else seem this?

As long as the base of your stand and the vertical leg are flush, then you should be fine.

You do have to tilt the bike just a smidge to get them under. But it's no more precarious than trying to lift any other bike onto a center stand. Once you get a feel for it you'll be fine.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I can get part of the jack under the swing arm on the right but then the bottom part of the wood hits the tire. I can't get it in far enough to get the cutout to "grab" the swing arm. The top of the wood is only about halfway across the swing arm when the bottom if hits the tire.

If I tilt the bike to the right (of the stand) the jack won't go under the swing arm. Guess I could shorten the jack but then I don't know if I"d have enough clearance to spin the wheel.

Well, my bad. If you just tilt the stand a little so the notch on the top goes around the swing arm, when you tilt the bike up, the stand straightens out perfectly.

Oh boy, now I get to clean and oil my chain!
