Take $1100 in cash. Offer $1000. He's getting a good deal and money talks.

Be humble about it, because it's not your property yet. But money talks.

I would offer them $800 cash in hand (show them the money) after my friend has checked the motorcycle and we discussed it out of hearing range of the seller. The seller has been selling it for a month. If they say no deal then ask what is the lowest they would go (for example $1000). If they say $1000 then go for it unless you want to push it and ask them to meet you in the middle at $900. The price is dictated by the eagerness of the seller and the buyer. If the seller is in no rush to get rid of it then they will likely get what they ask for it . As the buyer you should take into account there maybe another deal on craigslist maybe even a newer model bike in about the same price range. I have been very eager in a few purchases because I was tired of looking and not riding. Know your limit and stick with it. Best of luck.
