Breaking er in...

Anyone out there know the real way to break in a GZ250? How have you done it and how many miles on your bike since?
Ive never had such a small bike, so its been hard learning to ride through all gears in town....
Please advise.... I got mine a month ago.
Thanks,
RIck

Break In

Check your owners manual, page 25. Suzuki manufactured it, and are going to warrant it. I would think they know best. Some "people" say "break in slow, you get a slow bike. Break in fast, you get a fast bike." I'd follow the manufacturers recommendation.

I own 3 bikes, a 2006 HD Street Glide w/ almost 28k miles, a 2006 HD Sportster w/ almost 10K miles, and a 2005 GZ w/ over 12k miles. I have been riding for about 35 years. The mfgr's recommendations will not fail you.

Welcome brother!

Sarris is right. There are 1,000 different theories on breaking in new engines. The factory break-in period may be long and slow, and possibly excessive, but you will avoid problems if you just do it like they say.

Thanks Guys

The only problem is that cannot ride the bike safely in traffic at "half Throttle" and I have found the owners manual to be less than specific... So Ive just mixed er up alot... 1/4 mile at 55 on the freeway then 45mph on side streets.... and so on.... Over 1000 miles already, and have been working her out..
