Re: Hyperlite LED taillight kit

I think the modulating head and brake lights are much more effective in making you more visible than the absolute brightness of the bulbs. And they are both legal without any questions.

Also, there are DOT replacement bulbs for 1157 outlets that offer a higher contrast, even in standard set-up. So there should be no question about legality, or whatever.

Do I understand correctly that you are putting a non 1157 bulb into an 1157 slot? Does the new DOT bulb packaging state that it is for use as a replacement for 1157?
You can do that easy enough. The bulb will fit just fine. The power draw is minimal and the wiring will take the small extra load. On my Vstrom I replaced the 23 watt signal bulbs with 50 watt halogens for a much brighter signal. A continuous load would eventually harm the wiring but as a signal it has been working fine for 5 years. Jonathon's brake light is brighter and the extra load is not a problem with the added power draw while the brakes are on.

Just about any and all lightbulb on the planet will have crossover bulbs of varying power/output.

Re: Hyperlite LED taillight kit

I want a paid position as a forum advertiser. How do you get that job, obviously there is no intelligence or social skills requirement. I'm pretty sure i know how many wheels are on a motorcycle and I am pretty sure I have the ability to irritate and alienate most everyone I talk to.

I'm a shoe in!
