Re: Would This Be a Safe Lock to Use

Those would be the "D" rings on the helmet strap.

Re: Would This Be a Safe Lock to Use

My old helmet had the D ring, but my new one doesn't, so it appears that not all helmets have them.

I have three helmets, 2 full face and one other. None have the D ring. I have not seen the old D ring on any recent helmets. It maybe a European law issue.

If they don't have D rings then what do they have? Maybe a pic?

Re: Would This Be a Safe Lock to Use

Here is one option:

But I prefer these:

Sorry about that last one being slightly out of focus.

It consists of a plastic ratchet type fastener, with a quick release tab.

I have to say I would prefer a D ring, but they do not appear to be available in my part of the country.

My old helmet had the ratchet fastener, but it also had a D ring half way down the strap.
