LED lighting for seeing and being seen

I am looking at installing these on my bike and wondered what your thoughts might be.. they are listed on EBAY as LED Brake Tail Turn Signal Harley. $24.99 a pair in clear red and amber (even have red/green for boats) with $4.98 shipping. Take a look and share your thoughts.

I like that price. Having seen them on motorcycle sites at inflated prices I did shy away from them. The Amber would be nice for running lights and stand out on a crowded road.

Pics are of the running lights on Lynda's M-50 using cheap clamps on the crash bars.

The upper portion of the lower GZ lower fork tube has a nice large round surface to wrap a P clamp around. This would put the lights at the same level as the top of the fender.

That's what I thought - Amber.... maybe double wired for constant on or pulse flash, like I did on my patrol cars.

I vote for constant on. You could install a headlight modulator for a DOT approved safety feature.

Re: LED lighting for seeing and being seen

i just typed a long post just to have the computer dump it.

I've got LEDs on my Ninja. If the light assemblies don't come with resistors installed, you need to get some to wire inline to slow down the flash rate if you wire them for turn signals. That would be the only thing. Otherwise, They would be a good light as a front marker. i'm not sure if a pulse/modulator will work with the LEDs. Not a bad idea, though.

These yellow led lights are too dark, its the maximum range may be too short

The range is not a problem. They are not to see with but to be "seen" with. They should work very well for that purpose.

My friend turned me on to small LED’s and because we all know, cages can’t see you at night, I’m trying them out on the Baron! They do make a difference.
