New Rider in SoCal

I just got my first bike today. A Suzuki GZ250. Had a blast riding it around today. Looking forward to checking the forums out more.

Re: New Rider in SoCal

Welcome aboard. If you're a new rider I would recommend the MSF BRC (Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course) to get off on the right foot and develop good habits. Ride safe and keep the shiney side up.

Re: New Rider in SoCal

Thanks! Yea, I took the class a few weeks ago and I'm really glad I did. After going through the class I think anyone who doesn't take it is asking for trouble. I plan on eventually taking the experienced rider course too.

Re: New Rider in SoCal

Welcome mego. I'm in OC and there's a handful of us (some current owners, some upgraders) scattered around LA, OC and Riverside Counties. I think BusyWeb is closest to you. I've done a number of rides with Moedad and one with OCHoosier (I think he might have moved away.) Don't ride in Los Angeles too much, but I ride through there on the way to other places.

Re: New Rider in SoCal

Thanks everyone. The bike is a 2001 with 1600 miles on it. I got it with sadlebags and a cover for $1200. It looks brand new. I'm really happy.

Welcome! That's a great deal! Are the tires the original ones? You should get new ones yesterday if they are. Either way, great deal! Pictures?
